[DESPERATE] Problem with EQUAL COST MULTIPATH, and Redhat 6.2

Hello anyone,

I've basically at my wits end with this problem with Redhat 6.2 and equal cost
multipath:

when i do an

ip route add default via 203.123.1.1

(203.123.1.1 being the IP of the router), all is fine. The system accepts the
default route and i can route to the internet.

However, doing an

ip route add default nexthop via 203.123.1.1

i get an "RTNETLIN answers: network unreachable"

The reason for only one 'nexthop' is because i initially wanted to 'hop'
between interfaces, and kept on getting this error message. So i just left one
interface for the next hop and still the problem persists. It's interesting to
note that the initial ip route command without the next hop works fine.

This exact same command works with Redhat 5.2 (with kernel 2.2 upgraded), and
Mandrake 6.1. I'm using iproute2-2.2.4 for this and have the _same kernel_
running on both machines. Any help would be appreciated on this matter!
