Immediate change of routing entry

Dear Jouni and others,

When I changed the routing entry of my linux box (Redhat 6.2), it takes
around 2 seconds before the traffic gets routed to the new path...

I read through the mailing list and tried the following methods without
luck:

- set the values of min_delay and max_delay at /proc/sys/net/ipv4/route
to be zero
- use the command "ip route flush cache"
- echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/route/flush

It seems that even though I manage to flush the routing cache
successfully, the traffic still does not follow the new path in the FIB
routing table until a few seconds of time delay??!

I would appreciate so much if someone could assist me with this issue...

Thanks in advance...

Jonathan
