Card is not broken, if it can lock to a frequency. Something else is
wrong, somewhere in what you are doing.
Glad to be able to report that my card was in fact broken!
Yeah, but it sounds like a very weird way in which it is broken. i2c
works, GPIO works PCI bridge (878) woks, the ASIC works, the tuner can
lock, but no stream. Maybe improper locking, maybe the tuner is broken.
but still sounds a bit strange though.
I decided to order a 2nd card, because it seemed to be the only
reasonable explanation: card didn't even work on Windoze when using the
supplied driver-CD. However the decoder box from the cable provider did
work fine.
Today my new card came in: works immediately !
Nice to know that it finally works.
Sorry for having you waste your time with this stupid problem; it's just
that it is hard to debug things without any reference or comparison.
