Card is not broken, if it can lock to a frequency. Something else is wrong, somewhere in what you are doing.


Glad to be able to report that my card was in fact broken!

I decided to order a 2nd card, because it seemed to be the only reasonable explanation: card didn't even work on Windoze when using the supplied driver-CD. However the decoder box from the cable provider did work fine.

Today my new card came in: works immediately !

Sorry for having you waste your time with this stupid problem; it's just that it is hard to debug things without any reference or comparison.
