Cannot help you with the remote control question, but I have also just got a 
Nova-T USB2 card and wondered what applications you are using with it?  I can 
use tzap/xine fine, but I cannot get dvbstream to acquire lock.  Are you 
streaming at all and, if so, what are you using to do this?  My system is an 
Athlon 64, SusE9.3 with kernel upgraded to 2.6.16.11, so this may have 
something to do with it.
