- Have you already discussed if it would gives us some advantages when moving the control of demodulators and tuners into a userspace programm ? Normaly the demods and tuners are initialized, tuned to a frequency and when the signal is locked, no further action is required. So if there is a interface in the kernel, which calls a userspaces programm to init and tune to a frequency, this would be enough, or ? My intension is to speed up the development, when a new demod/tuner-combination is used by a vendor. Or maybe this could give a vendor a starting point to release a own binary, when they are not willing to release some informations.
