This I think is caused by the fact that with this card several of these
parameters are set at once. For instance there is a call to the card
called "tone_voltage_cmd", so if you pass only tone to the driver it
will cache this, then do the actual command once it has got enough
parameters known. There is also a slight possibility that it caches
passed parameters and doesn't set anything before you actually try to
tune.
