The Hauppauge uses the same frontend, but does the diseqc-patch only work with the KWorld Card, or am I doing something very wrong?
Yes, the diseqc support was tested only on KWorld DVBS-100. Someone on this list said that it works for Hauppauge cards with some changes in the driver, but I don't remember if a patch with the changes was sent. Did you try connecting the LNB directly to the card without a diseqc switch, to confirm that the problem is in diseqc ?
