Hm, I recently installed my main vdr on this kind of machine,
an old Scenic xB. ;-)

No problems with
- FF Nexus 2.1 + budget Activy GR
- kernel 2.6.12
- dvb-kernel CVS driver with firmware 261d (currently testing 261e)
- vdr 1.3.27

Did you check your RAM with memtest?
