Prity, For ===== PCI slot PCI ID SubsystemID Name ---------- --------- --------- -------------- 00:1b.0 8086:293e 17aa:20f2 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I interrupt assignment and sharing: 17: 152 692 IO-APIC-fasteoi uhci_hcd:usb7, ohci1394, HDA Intel ====== The modem chip might be hosted by on the subsystem 17aa:20f2 The scanModem diagnostics might not detect a Conexant chip. To check this possibility, from http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads.php get and try to install the hsfmodem_7.80.02.06full_i386.deb.zip. Under Linux $ unzip hsf*.zip $ sudo dpkg -i hsf*.deb There is an included diagnostic package. Report back what the output is.
