Sorry I overlooked:

 qunzip scanmodem.gz

Which you need to change "q" to "g"

as:

$ gunzip scanModem.gz
then run
$ chmod +x scanModem
$ .sudo ./scanModem

send us ModemData.txt.  This should work.  A typo.  Don't worry!  Let
us know if this was what was happening.
