Just to confirm, disconnections don't occur in Windows. I use Gnome-PPP to dial and it uses wvdial. It can't be killed. Once, there was a status 'uninterruptuble' with 'uart_close' message in System Monitor. Once, automatic redial succeed. But mostly, when a break occures, I have to hard reset laptop because everything is frozen.
