Re: Installing modem driver under linux Centos

Sherif,

When you run
# slmodem -c GERMANY --alsa modem:1
or
$ sudo slmodem -c GERMANY --alsa modem:1
Enter a & at the end, so that the process does not terminate, ie,
# slmodem -c GERMANY --alsa modem:1 &
Then run
# wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
and it hopefully finds /dev/ttySL0 as the modem port. This is the
option if you cannot open a terminal or tab to find it. Then after
successful completion by wvdialconf edit the file /etc/wvdial.conf
with root/sudo priviledges add your username, phone number and
password and a line "Carrier Check = no" to the file /etc/wvdial.conf

Let us know how this goes.

Regards,

Antonio
