Once the /etc/ppp/chap-secrets has been written to by the IP,
the original pernissions can be restored.

The problem however may recurr at another call in site.
When I was using ATT.net , all was well for dialout from home.

But when I tried an ATT.net dialup while visiting elsewhere, the
chap-secrets problem was encountered.
So it seems that different callup numbers on the same Some.NET may
have different security protocols.
