Re: NO DIALTONE

Ryan,

Maybe it is time to change method.

If you refer to the very first mails you exchanged with Antonio that you
consciously stored in your Web server, you will notice that one version
of the Intel driver you grabbed did not cause a NO DIALTONE error but
after successfully dialing, it caused an error on reading and
transmitting to your ISP password through the phone connection.

If this driver comes from me, the .tar.gz or more recent .tar.bz2 is
usually dated and, last but not least, the entire but the Intel provided
binaries source code is provided.

I can grant you there has strictly been no single change on the Intel
provided binaries. First, I do respect Intel's will to protect its trade
secrets. Next I am not equipped to do reverse engineering on compiled
Windows assembly written language files, although I know and have used
some Linux means to partly get information from these binaries.

So it is your turn to now work. Dig onto your disk and into your
directories to find out the Intel driver you were using at the very
beginning of your mail exchanges with Antonio.

Give each of the Intel .tar.gz or .tar.bz2 files found on your disk a
try until you no longer get a NO DIALTONE.

To avoid you useless expenses, retry each driver you test with the efax
command dialing your personal phone number. This is a command I sent
you. The expected result you must get with efax is a BUSY response.

Kind regards,
Philippe
