Move there is now a SLMODEMD_gcc4.3_alsa1.0.17.tar.gz update
Use it instead. Copy it into your Linux home folder.
Unpack it with:
$ tar zxf SL*.tar.gz
which will create a folder SLMODEMD_gcc4.3_alsa1.0.17
Browse the files therein.  Then
$ cd SLMODEMD_gcc4.3_alsa1.0.17
and run:
$ sudo ./setup
