From what Zsolt has been able to discover, the AgereMdmDaemon sets up
the PCM streams to produce the dialling sounds when your modem dials out.
HOWEVER, this is broken in 2.6.25 onward- likely due to alsa changes.
Hence, starting it has no effect, since you will not hear modem sounds,
but it is also not required for functioning.
