Would someone with a functioning  modem of this type

 High Definition Audio Card  with AL883 Audio chip and modem :
Motorola  chip 10573055
Hosted on a Ubuntu 2.6.24-19-generic system
/lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/ubuntu/sound/alsa-driver/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko
-------------
Please run:
$ sudo slmodemd -c USA --log --debug=2 --alsa hw:0,6
Then a wvdial dialout in another console
and send us the resultant log file on slmodemd actions.

A success as desired to compare with Erin's problem,
