omkarnet It would still be useful if you sent to the Linmodems, the entire ModemData.txt file produced by running $ ./scanModem as it provides useful information about your System environment. If after the gunzip, the filename is scanmodem, rename it with $ mv scanmodem scanModem before running $ ./scanModem For Communication controller: Rockwell International HCF 56k goto http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hcf/full/downloads-ubuntu-x86.php and download the hcfpcimodem_1.15full_k2.6.22_14_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb.zip Under Linux $ unzip hcf*,zip $ sudo dpkg -i hcf*.deb and follow the output instructions. The first functional test is: $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf which should report finding the modem. Read Testing.txt for details. For information on the: Conexant Unknown device 2f50 run $ ./scanModem fake 14f1:2f50 and read the new scanModem output I'm not under Linux now and cannot do it for you currently.
