Omkarnet

Under Linux now, I ran
$ ./scanModem fake 14f1:2f50

The output ModemData.txt  instructs
--------------------
Support for the 14f1:2f50 and 14f1:2215 HSF modems is projected early
in 2007 from Linuxant.
 The hsfmodem package serves a great variety of Conexant chipset modems.
 From  http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads-ubuntu-x86.php
 download hsfmodem_7.68.00.07full_k2.6.22_14_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb.zip
 Under Linux unpack with:
 $ unzip hsfmodem*.zip
 Then install with:
 $ sudo dpkg -i hsfmodem*.deb
 Subsequently, the modem should be found with
 $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
 Edit in your personal information with:
 $ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf
 and try dialing out with:
 $ sudo wvdial.
 See Testing.txt  for details.

 Read Conexant.txt

For both HCF and HSF type modems, it is necessary to buy a software
key from Linuxant, to have full speed service activated.
In contrast, the software for Smartlink modems is free.

If you want guidance on the Smartlink modem,
put it in the PC, run
$ ./scanModem
and send us the ModemData.txt
