Hi, I just executed slmodemd and got the following message, which seems to indicate that there were no errors: sudo slmodemd -c GERMANY --alsa hw:0,6 SmartLink Soft Modem: version 2.9.11 Aug 6 2007 22:02:27 symbolic link `/dev/ttySL0' -> `/dev/pts/2' created. modem `hw:0,6' created. TTY is `/dev/pts/2' Use `/dev/ttySL0' as modem device, Ctrl+C for termination. Then I used pppconfig for creating a connection using /dev/ttySL0 as the modem device. But when I want to connect, I get this: pon [provider] /usr/sbin/pppd: In file /etc/ppp/peers/[provider]: unrecognized option '/dev/ttySL0' What did i do wrong or forget? This is really a bit hard for me to understand, since I am not so experienced with it. So it would be nice if someone could help me. -------- Original-Nachricht -------- > Datum: Wed, 14 Nov 2007 17:53:38 -0500 > Von: "Marvin Stodolsky" <marvin.stodolsky@xxxxxxxxx> > An: P.Tod@xxxxxxx, Linmodems <discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Betreff: Re: P.Tod, Germany, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic > Yes, > > Just follow the instructions. > After you have > $ sudo cp -a slmodemd /usr/sbin/slmodemd > Then the following should work > > $ sudo slmodemd -c USA --alsa hw:0,6 > reporting dynamic creation of ports: > /dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/pts/N , with N some number > Read Smartlink.txt and Modem/YourSystem.txt for follow through guidance. > > On Nov 14, 2007 5:12 PM, <P.Tod@xxxxxxx> wrote: > > > Download from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/ > > > the package SLMODEMD.gcc4.1.tar.gz having a compiled slmodemd.
