Greetings,

I am still having the problem that any dialer,
including using ONLY wvdial, will show a disconnect,
but still leaves the line and carrier active. A reboot
is required to get the system to hang up.

Jacques was correct, I had not started slmodemd in a
separate window before starting wvdial. When I try to
start that, it states that it cannot find /dev/slamr0
(see the output below).
Also, I could have installed the M1 L3 statement with
Gnome PPP, but I am not sure how to take it out. It
does not currently show in the Gnome PPP INIT 2
string.

ONE MORE QUESTION: I have setup a system for Ubuntu
7.10 2.6.22-14-generic. It requires that I compile
slmodemd. When I run make, it gives me a lot of errors
because it cannot find the header files, like stderr.h
plus about 20 others. I seem to have all the
development libraries installed, so I'm not sure what
to do next.

Thanks for all you do!
Bob Terrell
