Vlad, There was no attachment. And incidendantly do use a COUNTRY specification. The default is US, but strangely omitting it has occassionaly made a difference. So: slmodemd -c COUNTRY --debug=2 --log --alsa -hw:0,6 >& slmodemd.log Note that for Italian users, an X3 is commonly necessary in Init2. ALso in case you should poor line quality locally, slowing speed with +MS=90 or + MS=34 additions to Init2 sometimes helps.
