Hi,

Thank you very much for getting back to me. Unfortunately, the
slmodemd.gz you sent me still exhibits the same "NO CARRIER" problem. 

I've attached the output of:

   slmodemd --debug=2 --log --alsa -hw:0,6 >& slmodemd.log

and the output of the wvdial attempt to the following ALSA bug report:
