For your aLinux.org Kernel 2.6.17 with modem
---------
134d:7891 Communication controller: PCTel Inc HSP MicroModem 56
     Primary PCI_id 134d:7891
Support type needed or chipset:	PCTEL
--------
just follow the instruction in Pctel.txt

Before starting to compile the drivers, you will have to install packages for
gcc-4.1 make kernel-source-2.6.17 (or some equivelant providing kernel-headers.
I'm not familiar with your http://alinux.org/ release. Check with
them if there is a package available provides a full header set, not
just the minimal complement in /usr/include.

The worst case is that you will have to install a full kernel-source
package and compile your kernel, which will generate kernel-headers in
the process.

Write back if you need detailed instructions. But best check with
aLinux for guidance first.
