Well done, Marv, I had missed that one (ISDN)

I would still like to know which is the Website Andrej found his
"When trying the debian package from your website, I chose the one for
my kernel version (2.4.27)"?
His kernel is more actually 2.4.27-2.
The official place, http://www.physcip.uni-stuttgart.de/heby/ltmodem/dists/debian/,
stops at 2.4.27-1 and with 8.31a8
Just out of curiosity.
Note that we even do not know what did not work from his:
" Since the package was not successfuly
installed" , possibly because of different kernel subversions.

But of course ISDN is the cause.

Re: Welcome in ISDN ST_OnLine,
The ltmodem drivers and hardware are not suitable for ISDN service.
There is a a Linux ISDN howto which you should consult.

Thank you for your kind help.

ltmodem_8.31a10.tar.gz is the first driver I tried. I installed it by the commands in the instruction text file, and it went smoothly. The driver was installed sucessfully, but probably did not work properly. See the attached wvdialconf and wvdial outputs.

Here is your lspci output:

vendelin:/home/andrej# lspci -n | grep 11c1
0000:00:0f.0 0780: 11c1:044c (rev 02)
vendelin:/home/andrej#

When removing the driver, I followed steps described in the enclosed text file (./ltuninst2, ./clean).

When trying the debian package from your website, I chose the one for my kernel version (2.4.27). Since the package was not successfuly installed, I did not cosider important to enter some commands for removal. Would dpkg -r be enough ?

I'm not a beginner at linux, you need not explain to me what pipe is... I'm not very good at this administration, though.

The modem really starts connecting with the driver ltmodem_8.31a10, after entering wvdial, which made me happy at first, but the connection dies out after authenticating. Until that, modem makes the same sounds as under Windows XP.

I would appreciate your help.
