Fully agreed. Basically, they kill over an hour of otherwise productive time.

If there have to be announcements, maybe only let those projects speak for whom it's their first time, or for whom the selection panel has decided that they have something other to share that is worthwhile the disruption.

Or we could all just stop uploading reports :-)

I dislike the “competition” part of the hackathon. The goal is to write running code. One group is not “better” than another. I wish it would stop running a “competition” and stop announcing “winners”.
