Tom, The point I think Dave, Joel, Brian, myself, and others are trying to make is that we don't see the direction you are arguing for as positive evolution. Instead, perhaps to differing degreed and for different reasons, we see it as a step backwards to an environment in which standards are created and set in small meetings by representatives of vendors who can provide a lot of support and under circumstances that provides little diversity of views and perspectives. We know standards bodies that do things that way and the wildly successful network protocols they have produced. john
