To clarify: 

I was thinking of vendors, not people .  The vendor that does not invest
in its staff enough to expose them to the IETF culture may not supply
my network with code and boxes.

People who initially fail to appreciate the jokes for what they are
should be enlightened in the most gentle way possible.

At no time have I proposed or held the belief that public humiliation
is in any way acceptable.
