I agree: 5905 needs a bis before it should be considered for advancement. I wouldn't opposed advancing a well-written bis, but I'd prefer to to ship an NTPv5, let it bake as a proposed standard for a decade, and
then revisit the issue. I also agree. The standards-track status of 5905 does not seem to have any effect on its deployment and utility to the Internet. Let’s focus on the future. |
