Again in my opinion is RFC 822 such an outstanding document and also event in history that to mention and refer to it explicitly is by no means excessive
While of course RFC 822 is better than sliced Internet bread,
it's actually a fairly small delta from RFC 733, which arguably
really was the pivotal document for highly interoperable email.
To underscore this point: Almost all of an RFC 733 object's
syntax and semantic are interoperable with today's email.
