At one earlier San Francisco IETF meeting, the main hotel was full and I ended up at the Bijou (http://www.hotelbijou.com/) quite nearby. At least at that time each room was named for a movie and there was a very small theater off the lobby with movies every evening. The room I stayed in was the one for "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers' '.

Thanks,

And I think there's never been an IETF in recent memory where there weren't budget hotels nearby. If the local host can also arrange nearby student-hostel style rooms, that's a good idea, of course.

There is a large amount of university accommodation close to venue some of it privately operated but I suspect the licence terms forbid short term let to non students. However it does exist, in great towering numbers within short walking distance.

There are also backpackers motels. I probably should volunteer to bootstrap some data into the wiki.

Wiki owners: contact me.
