I agree - we shouldn't be more or less trigger happy or
rude when sending to or receiving from the IETF list
regardless of whether that correlation is real or not.

To be clear: I wasn't proposing any particular action if
the correlation I posited turned out to be real. My guess
is that it'd be v. v. subtle as to how that ought affect
an update to BCP 83. But I do think any update to BCP 83
really ought take into account the fact that our email
lists are to some extent now a relatively minor part of
a much bigger (and oftentimes engineered to be toxic)
messaging and short message broadcast system.
