Yes, it does.

I'm loading thinkpad_acpi with brightness_enable=3.  The first time it 
is loaded is *before* the ACPI video module load/unload.  At that time, 
it reports NBCF=0 both before and after probe.  It also reports 
"standard ACPI backlight interface available, not loading native one."

Then I unload and reload thinkpad_acpi *after* loading and unloading 
video.  At this ti,e it reports NBCF=1 both before and after probe.  It 
also reports "standard ACPI backlight interface available, not loading 
native one."  And I now find that there are no blacklight interfaces 
available at all, either in /proc/acpi/ibm or in /sys/class/backlight.

I hope this helps you; I'm pretty lost by now.  Anything else you'd like 
me to try?
