Gnu-GK and Asterisk run on the same box ( 10.152.0.120 ) and I've confirmed that its listening on port 1720

How about the first 2 items ?
Did you log into your Asterisk box on IP 10.152.0.120 and did a "netstat
-tln" to verify that it is indeed listening on port 1720 ?
GnuGk can't connect to 10.152.0.120:1720 and most probably there is a
reason.
