the original release of the 2.2.0 Windows package had an old version of the WinSvc tool. If you use WinSvc or plan to do so, please download the archive again, the new version is called gnugk-2.2.0-1-win32-x86.zip. The gatekeeper itself is fine and there is no need to re-download, if you don't use WinSvc.

GnuGk 2.2 has much better performance and scalability than older releases (it does multithreaded RAS now). Among many other improvements it has much more flexible routing policies and neighbor configuration.

We would like to encourage all users to upgrade to the 2.2 line since we won't add new features to 2.0 and will only be making bug fixes.

A few people may want to stay with the 2.0.x branch for now: - LDAP support was removed from the 2.2 release for now, because the implementation was broken and not thread-safe - the H.235 implementation in 2.2.0 is not as complete, as in the soon to be released 2.0.9 version (probably be fixed in 2.2.1)
