Right- that makes sense. Outside of a Q.931 trunk, you wouldn't see a release message, because they use CAS signalling, which doesn't define release (or any other kind of data) messaging! By definition you have to be off hook to go on hook. This also applies to T1 E&M intermachine trunks. An SS7 ISUP or ISDN Q.931 signaling system can initiate a release before answer. H.323 endpoints use Q.931 call control so they are included in that number. The normal scenario is that the call remains in the alerting stage (if it got that far) until the caller abandons the call. That is what you should expect to see. That is what you will see. If you see a release from the destination end end it's more likely coming from a switch in the circuit switched network or a gateway. -Vance On Tue, Sep 30, 2003 at 10:32:50AM -0400, Williams, Allen wrote: } Normally, would this only be sent in the event of a time- out, or any time the } dest end releases without being answered? ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ List: Openh323gk-users@lists.sourceforge.net Archive: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=8549 Homepage: http://www.gnugk.org/
