So the acutal source of the problem was the 'unregisteralias' command through the status port ?

Makes sense: It is only given a text string as alias and has to guess. The same is probably true for all other status port commands taking alias arguments.

One way of fixing that would be to implement a 2nd parameter (optional) with the alias type so you could say 'unregisteralias 1234 h323' or 'unregisteralias 123x e164'.
