It a very old command and unlikely to change often. May be that is just one of the examples where different *nix platforms simply are that - different. Since the manual belongs to GIMP and GIMP is running on dozens of different OS's, we might leave out the more exotic parameters anyways?! What exactly does the -wholename do?
