Summary: Cannot log into AOL accounts

Initial Comment:
Hello,

I have a couple AOL acounts - some are created via AOL
and others are AIM. I can use the AIM ones just fine
however the AOL accounts do not want to log in. Is
there any support on this topic?

Thanks in advance.

This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. It was

This bug is fixed in the most recent version of Gaim. If you are
not using the lastest version, please upgrade. If you are using
the latest version, please indicate so and reopen this bug.

Correct, I can sign into the AOL based accounts on AIM but
not in Gaim. I tried two accounts (my wife's and her
brothers - both do not work). I created an AIM based
account for her, and that works on AIM and Gaim...hmmm

Nothing I can think of. You're able to sign on the AOL
accounts using AIM clients other than Gaim? Like the
official Linux or Windows version of AIM?

I changed the password from 5 characters to 8 characters
and still could not log in. Any ideas?

The password is 6 characters - all numbers. I will reset my
password to be 7+ characters and let you know. Thanks for
the update.

How long are your passwords? Can you try truncating them to
7, 8, or 9 characters?
