I use gaim for then both. But the issue is that every 10/20 minutes I get disconnected with a "Unable to read" error. Then I'm forced to reconnect. I don't have this problem when I use the clients for the particular service so I think that may eliminate a network problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2006-10-28 09:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 This bug is fixed in the most recent version of Gaim. If you are not using the lastest version, please upgrade. If you are using the latest version, please indicate so and reopen this bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Ringenbach (marv_sf) Date: 2005-02-19 16:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=790708 I believe this to be an issue with the user's proxy, which makes it a support request rather than a bug in Gaim. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Ringenbach (marv_sf) Date: 2004-08-23 17:26 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=790708 I think of I've heard of people having this problem before, something about the proxy closing the connection after a certain length of time. Possibly it only hits gaim because yahoo and msn and stuff use the http method instead of connection, and yahoo at least does multiple http requests (basicly polling) so a single connection is short and stuff. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: thimsen (thimsen) Date: 2004-08-23 13:26 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1107570 At my client site I am connecting through a proxy. I verified that I am using the same proxy setting in gaim that I was using with my Yahoo client. I have my preferences set to use global settings for the proxy setup. BTW, thanks for a great program!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Ringenbach (marv_sf) Date: 2004-08-22 15:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=790708 Do you connect through a proxy, or any other interesting network issues? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2004-08-19 19:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Tim, this looks like it might be similar to one of your other reports? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200235&aid=1012512&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
