Summary: Connection timeout every 10-20 minutes on AIM&Yahoo

Initial Comment:
GAIM v0.81 on WIN 2k- I have accounts with AIM and
YAHOO. I use gaim for then both. But the issue is that
every 10/20 minutes I get disconnected with a "Unable
to read" error. Then I'm forced to reconnect. I don't
have this problem when I use the clients for the
particular service so I think that may eliminate a network
problem.

This bug is fixed in the most recent version of Gaim. If you are
not using the lastest version, please upgrade. If you are using
the latest version, please indicate so and reopen this bug.

I believe this to be an issue with the user's proxy, which
makes it a support request rather than a bug in Gaim.

I think of I've heard of people having this problem before,
something about the proxy closing the connection after a
certain length of time. Possibly it only hits gaim because
yahoo and msn and stuff use the http method instead of
connection, and yahoo at least does multiple http requests
(basicly polling) so a single connection is short and stuff.

At my client site I am connecting through a proxy. I verified
that I am using the same proxy setting in gaim that I was
using with my Yahoo client. I have my preferences set to use
global settings for the proxy setup.

BTW, thanks for a great program!!

Do you connect through a proxy, or any other interesting
network issues?

Tim, this looks like it might be similar to one of your
other reports?
