Summary: Static builds for 0.80 : unable to like gnutls statically

Initial Comment:
Hi,

I am trying to build gaim 0.80 statically - libraries
like gnutls,libgcrypt,gtk+,glib

configure .... --enable-static="gnutls,libgcrypt,gtk+,glib"
doesn't seem to do the trick. It works for me. But when
I move the binaries, to another machine, it tries to
look in the same location for the libraries...

This is how I configure
./configure
--prefix=/home/mj153514/Utilities/gaim0.80ssl
--enable-gnutls=yes \
--with-gnutls-libs=/home/mj153514/opt/gnutls/lib \
--with-gnutls-includes=/home/mj153514/opt/gnutls/include \
--disable-perl --disable-nls \
--with-static-prpls="gg,irc,jabber,msn,napster,novell,oscar,yahoo,zephyr"
\
--enable-static="gnutls,libgcrypt,gtk+,glib"

Is there a way to override this behaviour?

Thanks
Manoj

This bug is fixed in the most recent version of Gaim. If you are
not using the lastest version, please upgrade. If you are using
the latest version, please indicate so and reopen this bug.

Hi,

Problem #1
What I am trying to do is compile gnutls statically with gaim.
I compile gnutls with the --enable-static option.

But gaim still links up dynamically.

Problem #2
Another problem is that the prefix is getting hardcoded
somewhere. When I copy the binaries to some other location,
it keeps looking at the old location for files like the
pixmap...

Can someone please help?

Thanks,
Manoj

of --with-static-prpls=oscar,irc...

That is not what --enable-static does. You must bild
gnutls, gcrypt, gtk+, and glib with --enable-static, and
then link against those static libraries. This is not a
Gaim bug.

Ethan, you were going to look at configure.ac, can you look
at this?
