Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: rramdas (rramdas) Assigned to: Tim Ringenbach (marv_sf) Summary: Yahoo over proxy unable to read Initial Comment: Using Gaim .79 from fedora core 1, over http proxy. When connecting to yahoo (AOL works just fine using the same proxy, hence the global proxy settings are fine in Gaim), times out with an 'unable to read' message. The connection to yahoo works just fine when i connect from a network that does not use a proxy. Almost looks like to me that it is having an issue when trying to create the buddy list . Can you please help me to get this to connect ? Please find below the messages i got when i ran gaim -d (I have replaced the proxy names). ========================================= dns: Host 'xxxxxx' resolved http proxy: Connecting to scs.msg.yahoo.com:80 via xxxxxx:80 using HTTP http proxy: Connect would have blocked. http proxy: proxy connection established yahoo: Only wrote -1 of 35 bytes!accounts: Writing accounts to disk. account: Disconnecting account 0x8c284c0 connection: Disconnecting connection 0x8c9a1a0 blist: Destroying connection: Destroying connection 0x8c9a1a0 Session Management: Handling closed ICE connection... done. If you are not using the lastest version, please upgrade. If you are using the latest version, please indicate so and reopen this bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Ringenbach (marv_sf) Date: 2004-11-29 16:13 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=790708 I don't think there's not much we can do, aside from implementing the http method for yahoo, so it uses a series of http connections instead of one long connect. Unless you can ask the network admins to change the proxy's timeout or something. But I'm not an expert on proxies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bruno Courbage (bcourbage) Date: 2004-11-29 09:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=888444 I'm having the same issue with 1.0.3. Any luck resolving this problem? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: rramdas (rramdas) Date: 2004-06-29 05:44 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1072626 Ok, The proxy could have disconnected us. How do we find out why it disconnected us ? Any additional tracing we can do (My regular mozilla browser works without an issue through the proxy) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Ringenbach (marv_sf) Date: 2004-06-28 10:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=790708 So when it tried to write some bytes, it got -1. Which is an error, so I guess the proxy disconnected us? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200235&aid=981282&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
