Well if it's what I reported, it's acts like some kind of race
condition due to an existing installation already there. But I'm not
sure what triggers it, whether it's preexisting Btrfs file system or
something else. If it's btrfs related, then it'll show up in the sysrq
t or w, which dumps to kernel message. That is, those echo commands
won't actually appear to do anything. Their result is in dmesg.


The ctl-alt-F2 works and I am working on the rest. But my install is with only ext4 partitions. As I said in a separate note, I did what I am use to, which is to select 'standard' then adjust the ext4 / and /home partitions while increasing swap.

Oh, and hibernate is not working on this Lenovo. I have not had hibernate since I switched from HP notebooks to Lenovo notebooks...
