The Aug 9 RC2 dis not throw an unhandled exception when "basic storage devices" looked at my main HD with a variety of Linux and Windows systems on it. But it did complain that swap areas lacked UUID protection. (What's wrong with looking at the partition ID?) So I dutifully told the installer to reformat all swap partitions. This caused the install process to wedge. I rebooted and selected "specialized storage devices" and installed F16 with about 2000 packages. As usual, the boot loader installation elicited a complaint. I fixed the booting problem by running Ubuntu's recovery grub rebuild option.
