There has been no (apparent) opposition to the policy.

The only thing that looks slightly amiss is this

as if it were a new Extras package review. This will allow the normal
review process to happen. Being how the package is in Extras already,
this process should be swift."

If you are not a contributor, you won't have CVS access and so will need
to go through the sign up, get a sponsor etc procedure. I personally
would not like to see that circumvented as it adds in that extra layer
of security.


Though you can get the srpms with out CVS access. You can also get the CVS HEAD version from anon CVS checkout. Then the normal review process starts.
