Kate has moved to kdesdk. It's supposed to be an editor for developers, KWrite 
is the version for average users (based on the same editing component, the

KSysGuard still exists as a standalone application. What you were referring to:

is the Kicker applet which indeed is no longer available (and this is not a 
bug, it has simply not been ported or rewritten for Plasma yet).
