I thought this thread was about static IPs not working at all in certain
install scenarios - and someone else was suggesting the right solution
was "don't use static IP's".
But also realize that DHCP can be used as an automated method of
applying a static IP to a host.
I'd call that shifting the work to someone else, not actually automating it.
