I respectfully disagree. The LLVM maintainers think it is a good example worth following. So did the NodeJS maintainers. Name-versioning all the components makes things so much easier for the maintainers.
The component name does not matter to the "normal" users. It only matters to experienced packagers, but those should be capable of dealing with that.
(The Python 3 vs Python thing obviously is horrible, and nobody should ever do anything like that again.)
