The _FORTIFY_SOURCE change really shouldn't even have prompted a
discussion on the frame pointers change, let alone a reflection
because there is absolutely nothing in common there.  Especially in
the context of scrutiny level; one is a security change that has no
broad slowdown and another is a developer experience change that is
shown to have a broad slowdown (characterized by minor or major
depending on which side of the aisle you stand on).

I wish you had spoken up sooner then, using the _FORTIFY_SOURCE change
as the opportunity to speak up not only confused the whole thing, it
also makes it harder to convince that the change of mind came
independently.
